Street residency Marais puts the marsh behind the WIELS museum in the spotlight. For four Sunday afternoons, you will encounter wonder in every corner of this nature reserve in the middle of the city. There will be installations, workshops and places to relax. The water birds welcome us with open wings.

MARAIS MAGICA – WEAREARTITS

The collective weareartits invites you to marvel together, escape the hustle and bustle of the city and tune into the rhythm of nature. Join us on a magical-realistic journey through the swamp of WIELS, a world turned upside down, where fantasy becomes reality.

CONTES ET LÉGENDES DU MARAIS – ELISH

stories and legends of the Marsh – only on 29/06 & 06/07

Storyteller and performer elish – Elisabetta Falanga – takes us to a fairytale marsh on the border between the real world and the imaginary. Then we create our own stories and,together we populate this unique space, a magical oasis in the middle of the city.

CARAVANE À OMBRES – DESSIN ALLUMÉ

visual and sound installation & ateliers- only on 15/06, 22/06 & 29/06

The Caravane à ombre is an installation that plays with light and shadow, a bubble of darkness in which you can discover the birds of the marsh in a setting of coloured shadows. The audience is invited to explore the installation and create decorative elements, stories and shadow puppets.

MURSMURS – FACE B

In the exceptional urban setting of the Marais Wiels, Lydia Cauwels' architectural and light installation MURSMURS comes to life in an ephemeral way. MURSMURS takes us to the heart of what seems innate: our relationship with the home, with the independence it offers or the compartmentalisation it creates, with what we inherit from those who created it and what we pass on to them.

INTERGALACTIC ART SCHOOL – SOFIA, ELLE, ANANDA, YACINE, LOU & DANJA

workshop – enkel 29/6 in de Straatresidentie Marais, maar dit project speelt ook op 26/06, 27/06 & 28/06 – verschillende locaties

Join Sofia, Elle and their Brussels friends Ananda, Yacine, Lou and Danja and create a tapestry of shared knowledge, art and future possibilities. A mobile, transformative art education initiative that creates connection through art, dialogue and collective practices. On the programme: Harmony Resonance (sound healing), Traditional joik mixed with harp and the sounds you want to add, and Cultural Threads (creating masks and bands). Everyone is welcome to add their thread.
