Participatory process

Who has the right to culture?

Who has the right to the city? For whom is art made? Who is excluded? Who is forgotten?

Participating in cultural life is not a given for everyone, which is why we are committed to cultural participation for a wide audience. We are radically changing our working methods towards more participatory processes.

It started with SuperVliegSuperMouche: from 2013 to 2019, the park in Vorst was transformed into a playful and poetic festival for thousands of visitors, young and old, for one weekend a year. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, we had to cancel the 2020 festival, but this gave rise to Park Poétik, which, like SVSM, is committed to dialogue and encounter.

And we continue to ask ourselves: What does encounter mean? What does sharing mean? What is polyphony? What is public space?

Three pillars form the basis of our dream and actions. We summarise them as: a multilingual fertile ground, an urban laboratory and a mycelium (a network of fungal threads).
