Streetresidence [It Takes a Square] with Mirthe Dokter @ Square Jacques Franck

This summer 3x on 8, 10 and 11 July, on Square Jacques Franck
Workshops, co-creation, planting, art, storytelling & a closing parade on 11 July (at 6 pm).
For all ages: come and join in!

Together, we’re building the social ecosystem of Jacques Franckplein, using objects made from recycled materials and memories from years gone by.

Every handmade piece – from cut-up flags to tiny plants or portraits – will find a place in a growing mobile that dances above the square in the wind. Residents and passers-by are weaving a web of stories, roles and personal strengths, which expands further every day. When you look up, you can see how all these small gestures together form a living network that connects the square. On the ground, we’re visualising this vast web in a ‘feeling map’ of the square, in the form of a large painting.

On the final day (Friday 11 July at 6 pm), we’ll celebrate this shared ecosystem with a playful parade, in which all the objects briefly cross the square.

★ More about the artist: Mirthe Dokter is an interdisciplinary artist and performer who sets up participatory and ecological art projects through her organisation, Pollif Projects. Following an initial year with the project ‘Ta trace – Show that you were there’ in 2024 and ‘Green Fingers’ in 2025, she will continue to build on the connections and stories from the neighbourhood in 2026.
