Circus – Cirque Barbette @ Marais WIELS

‘Tu sens la terre bouger?’ is a poetic and playful open-air performance featuring two musicians and four circus artists. Two people seek balance together on a swing, leading to a subtle dance of counter-movements.

The audience helps to build an aerial structure, which eventually turns into a giant mobile. The artists balance on floating beams, inspired by Alexander Calder's mobiles.

The performance is both intimate and spectacular: attention to detail and collaboration are central. As in Mikado, success depends on everyone's commitment – so that no one falls.

★ More about the artist: Cirque Barbette was founded in Brussels in 2010 by balance artist Rosa Matthis. Her creations are both social and visual. She looks for ways to play with balance constructions using the human body.
