Closing Parade @ Marconi → Marais

The summer ends colourfully!

On Saturday 6 September, we will be taking to the streets of Forest and Saint-Gilles in festive style. Together with last summer's enthusiasts, we will be announcing the end of our poetic summer. Expect a big party, a parade full of Brussels madness, maypole dancing and colourful characters dressed as Bastardes van Bruxelles. A real Brussels sprout mix!

Wait for us, find us and follow us to the Moeras Wiels, where we will be overwhelmed by greenery. A playful parade for young and old, where we will bid farewell to summer and its warm solar energy in a festive manner. Parade with us and join us in celebrating the end of summer!

Artist Précy Numbi, the Cycl.one collective, live musicians, the NinetySix DJ collective, La Tata, the MIRO community centre and participants of workshops during the mini-fiestas and in local schools in Saint-Gilles and Forest will join in.

The artists

creates an ecological and poetic world in which recycling and resistance go hand in hand. is a visual artist, sculptor and performer from the Democratic Republic of Congo. Through striking performances and costumes made from used materials, he creates an ecological and poetic universe where recycling rhymes with resistance.

Belle de mai (c) Cycl.one CYCL.ONE (@collectif_cycl.one) is a collective that brings together Brussels-based creators and artists to explore public space as a huge playground. With its expertise in textiles and craft techniques, the collective works with flexible and reusable materials. The result is monumental, colourful and original creations.

96 – Ninety Six (@96movement_) is a young DJ collective that experiments far beyond the boundaries of music! For this parade, they are creating their own sound, which will be broadcast by the Cuistax-à-gogo. Showcasing new talent is the goal of 96!

Bastard·e·s of Park Poétik is a new and evolving ritual based on the multiplicity of voices and the ‘clash of journeys’. Throughout the city, the totem appears and is constantly adopted and set in motion by local communities in ‘their’ ecosystem. Project created in collaboration with Zinneke.

Cirque Barbette was founded in Brussels in 2010 by balance artist Rosa Matthis. Her creations are both social and visual. She looks for ways to play with balance constructions using the human body.

There will also be live music and the parade participants will be decorated with flower garlands made by the MIRO community centre.

Will we see you there?
